Privacy Notice for Egg Karne

1. Who we are

This notice explains how Egg Karne ("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit our website, order from us, join our rewards program or send us a message. We are responsible for your information.

Our website and online ordering are run for us by Stream, our technology provider, which handles your information only on our behalf. Payments are processed by Stripe.

2. Information we collect

Orders. Your name, email address and phone number; what you order, with its options, notes and any recipient names; whether it is for pickup, curbside or dine-in; any tip, promotion or reward used; and the order's status and history.
Accounts. If you create an account: your name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form), phone number, whether you want news and offers by email, and your past orders. Once you confirm your email address, orders you placed with it before you had an account are added to your account, with their points.
Rewards. Your points, tier, and the rewards you earn and use.
Forms. What you enter in our contact form.
Payments. Card and bank details go from your browser straight to Stripe. We never receive your full card number. We see whether a payment or refund went through. If you pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, that service also handles your payment under its own privacy policy.
Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time, which our website's servers and hosting providers record to run and protect the site. We also keep your browser and device type with each sign-in and form entry, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address with each form entry, to keep accounts secure and stop spam.

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

prepare and hand over your order, and contact you about it;
email you about your order, such as its confirmation, when it is ready, and any cancellation or refund, and once, the day after pickup, ask for a review;
run your account and rewards;
answer your messages;
send you news and offers by email, only if you ask for them;
take payments and give refunds, and prevent fraud and spam;
run, fix and improve our website; and
meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with:

Stream, which runs our website and online ordering, and the companies Stream uses to host, store and send information (such as Cloudflare, Google Cloud, Neon and Resend). They use it only to provide their services to us.
Stripe, which processes payments and refunds. Stripe also uses payment information under its own privacy policy, for example to prevent fraud.
Our point-of-sale system (such as Square or Clover), if we use one, which receives your order and the contact details needed to fill it.
Our staff and kitchen equipment. Our ticket printers and order screens show your name, phone number and order.
Others, when the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our business, our customers or others.
A buyer or successor if our business is sold or merged, who must protect your information as this notice describes.
Anyone else you ask us to share it with.

5. Cookies, local storage and Do Not Track

Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your cart and any payment in progress. Our hosting provider may set cookies it needs for security.

On checkout pages, Stripe's payment form sets its own cookies and collects information about your device and browser to prevent fraud, under Stripe's privacy policy. Apart from this, no other company collects information about your activity across websites through our website.

Because we do not track visitors across other websites, we do not change anything when a browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this notice:

Orders and payments: as long as we need them for customer service and to meet tax and accounting laws.
Accounts and rewards: while your account is open. If you ask us to close it, we delete or de-identify your account details, but keep the order records the law requires.
Forms: as long as we need to answer you.
Technical logs: generally no more than thirty (30) days, unless needed longer to look into a security problem.
Sign-in and form records: the browser details and hashed IP addresses kept with them stay as long as the account or form entry they belong to.

7. Your choices

See, correct or delete your information. Contact us using the details in Section 9.
Close your account. Contact us, and we will delete or de-identify your account details as Section 6 describes.
Stop news and offers. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us. We will still email you about your orders.

We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we answer within forty-five (45) days. If your state's privacy law gives you more rights, we will honor them as that law requires, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

8. Security, children and changes

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards: our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored only in hashed form, and card numbers and bank details go to Stripe without passing through our website's servers. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We will post any change to this notice here and update the date at the top.
